Volodymyr Junior Football Team

Everyday life in Ukraine involves being subjected to nightly bombings, power cuts, water shortages, food shortages and the worry of not knowing if their father, brother, uncle or friend is alive or dead, as the children of Volodymyr are.

Our good friend and club regular, Bob Frendt, has wonderfully supported the town of Volodymyr in Ukraine since the start of the Russian invasion by taking essential supplies several times as well as 2 fire engines! In that time, he has become very close to the community. He now plans to bring a junior football team over to their twin town of Knaresborough as a break and enjoy playing here what they love. This will require a major fund-raising effort, so Wetherby Folk Club are delighted to help out again.

Jon Palmer and Wendy Ross

Jon and Wendy are no strangers to Wetherby having playing at Wetherby leading The Jon Palmer Accoustic Band. Each time, they blow us away with their songs and delivery.

Jon and Wendy will no doubt be playing songs from their latest brilliant album 'Light Goes Low'.

Reuben and The Bridge

Reuben and Bridget have agreed to return again after delighting us on the terrace during a beautiful Summer Sunday. They bring energy and enthusiasm everytime they play. Who can forget their brilliant 'The Devil Goes Down to Gergia'?

The Janglebuddies

Phil and Dickie perform original and traditional songs and tunes in a variety of styles and moods. Equipped with guitars, Irish bouzouki, harmonium and percussion, they accompany themselves and their well-crafted harmonies to perform songs and music ranging from thoughtful to exuberant

Peculiar Blue

Peculiar Blue’s blend of heart warming and thought provoking love ‘n’ life songs has been in-sighting audiences around the UK and Europe now for around 10 years. In that time they have established themselves as one of Yorkshire's front running acoustic trios. Their music is an avenue to air their own life experiences, and the experiences of friends, family and situations around them.

Stan Graham

Stan’s songs have been described as powerful yet understated, moving and memorable, he writes from the heart and somehow always manages to keep his songs simple and straight to the point. He can be counted among that rare breed of songwriters with an innate ability to capture real emotion. His songs reflect life’s immense variety, with memorable words and melodies. With five internationally successful and highly acclaimed albums of self penned songs to his name, he stands out from the usual run of songwriters.
