Jez Lowe
Sony Award-winning songwriter, Jez, was also nominated for two 2015 BBC Folk Awards – for best singer and best new song – was a timely reminder of Jez Lowe’s standing in the UK folk and acoustic music scene. Not only he is one of the busiest live performers in the country, but his songs are among the most widely sung by other performers, whether by long-established acts like Fairport Convention, The Dubliners and Bob Fox, or by the new breed of stars like The Unthanks, The Young Uns, Megson and The Duhks.
His involvement in the award-winning BBC series The Radio Ballads continues, with his song The Wrong Bus singled out for inclusion on Radio 4’s Pick of the Year in 2018, and five more of his contributions included in the BBC Radio broadcast featuring the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra in November 2019. Many of these songs also featured on his 2016 solo album, The Ballad Beyond, the success of which prompted a feature in fRoots magazine and glowing reviews the world over.

Pen and Stu
Pen and Stu play original contemporary folk - with BIG whistles and tenor guitars. Their songs, written by Pen, tell stories about famous characters from history and folklore, heroes, villains and pirate queens.
What FATEA Magazine says about 'Ravenswood':
"..there's no doubt folk audiences will be setting sail to the addictive rhythm no sooner than the opening notes begin. These songs, performed at festivals, will have audiences tapping toes, clapping hands and stomping their feet, some may also feel compelled to get up and dance".
Pen and Stu were the Folkscape Live artist of the month for March 2024. They are in excellent company – the Folkscape Live artist of the month for February 2024, was Seth Lakeman.

Judith has delight us with her beautiful voice and songs with the second time with Trish who brings amazing harmonies and humour to the stage.
From the land of Chris Rea, Bob Mortimer, The Young Uns and Vin Garbutt, to name but a few......Judith & Trish have been entertaining folk clubs in the North East for many years with their songs. They sing a mix of self penned and covers, contemporary and traditional, and with their harmonies and warm humour, they bring delight to their audiences wherever they go.
