Finish the Day to Remember with a Night to Remember...
Wetherby Folk Club and Drovers have come together to bring you a unique and exciting finale to Drovers Day at The Engine Shed. After a day of captivating brass band performances, get ready to rock the night away with three of Yorkshire’s top folk/rock bands. Drovers Day is Wetherby’s annual celebration of its rich history. For centuries, thousands of cattle were driven through the town on their way to market, shaping the community it is today.
Jon Palmer Acoustic Band
Jon Palmer Acoustic Band is a brilliant 6-piece who never dissapoint. They have delighted us at Wetherby Folk Club before when the audience demanded an encore.
Describing the band as “a cross between The Pogues and Bruce Springsteen’s Seeger Session Band – with a bit of Waterboys and Saw Doctors thrown in for good measure”, Leeds Music Scene said the Jon Palmer Acoustic Band left them “spellbound and desperate for more!”
Duncan McFarlane Band
We are delighted to welcome back the Duncan McFarlane Band after getting everybody jigging around last year. The Band has gone from strength to strength since forming in 2001. They have continued with increasing festival appearances each year such as Beverley, Ely, Sidmouth, Shrewsbury. Their heady blend of traditional folk, with driving rhythm and vibrant energy, has gone down a storm with festival audiences – don’t miss ‘em!

The Hunch
Five musicians at the top of their game, honed from years of performance. With talent in great measure, they showcase their creativity & technical brilliance in every song. Intriguingly crafted classics and soul searching ballads shine with five-part harmonies and instrumental virtuosity, all introduced with dry wit and audacious humour. A unique band - to see them is a must.
