White Sail, George Boomsma and Chechelele World Choir,
Friday 17th January
At Wetherby Folk Club, we pride ourselves on showcasing a variety of styles that captivate and inspire.
White Sail are a mesmerizing trio blending harmony vocals and an array of instruments. Their music, inspired by nature, history, and heritage, tells tales of love, life, the land, and the sea, weaving contemporary and traditional sounds.
George Boomsma has a calming effortless voice that soothes the soul, George beautifully sings a mix of his own heartfelt songs and classic covers, creating an intimate and unforgettable experience.
Chechelele World Choir: Pronounced cheh-cheh-leh-leh, this group’s name means 'happy' in the South African Ndebele language, perfectly capturing the spirit of their performances.
Gaelforce, Alistair Russell and MAKK
Friday 21st February
Award-winning Gaelforce, Yorkshire’s premier Celtic Folk Rock band, delivers a high-energy mix of electrified traditional folk songs, original compositions, and foot-stomping jigs and reels.
Alistair Russell has a lifetime dedicated to folk music, Alistair brings a unique blend of heritage and experience to every performance with enchanting music and heartfelt stories.
MAKK left a lasting impression with a short set at Wetherby, and now he's back to dazzle us with a full performance! Since then, MAKK has turned professional, produced a record, and got married.
