St Patricks Day with Hebble, Rum Doodle and Sabrina Piggott

On St Patricks Day, everyone is Irish. Let's celebrate with 3 first-time visitors with a strong Irish theme to the night...

Hebble

Expect folk standards, catchy choruses, belting rhythms, and tunes to make the heart sing.

Rare and beautiful folk songs from around Europe and America arranged and interwoven with care and craft, and plenty of craic. Hebble are an eclectic world folk band with a unique set of instruments that play lively, international traditional music in multiple languages. Probably the only trio with Greek Bouzouki, Bodhran, and Cello + 3 vocals. Hebble also has a handful of original songs and tunes inspired by the myth and landscape of the British Isles. Upbeat and interactive with twists of the alternative, and plenty of three-part harmonies.

Hebble are:

- Sam Hodgson (aka Samh) - singer-songwriter, guitarist, & bouzouki player

- Aidan Kilroy - bodhran player & singer

- Helena Drumm - cellist & singer

Rum Doodle

Rum Doodle are a folk roots acoustic duo from Leeds. Martin & BB Tim play mostly their own original songs with influences as broad as Christy Moore & The Dubliners to Bob Dylan & Neil Young. A lot of the material draws its inspiration from these Islands we live in, be it about their wonderful heritage and different languages to growing up besides the Leeds&Liverpool Canal but most important is the CRAIC

Sabrina Piggott

The rhythmic consistency in Sabrina’s playing harks back to her roots as a champion Irish bodhran player. And the settings and ideas in her songwriting also show a wider artistic sensibility. Previously, Sabrina has collaborated with acclaimed poet Siobhan MacMahon, for whom she provided musical accompaniment in the award-winning work The Mouth of the Cave, featured at the Wicklow Arts Festival.

And also whilst in Wicklow, Sabrina’s solo fringe gig was awarded the AOIFE Best Musical Individual Award, given each year to the performer who, in the opinion of the panel, gave the best national performance across all AOIFE festivals in Ireland.
